Who Are We? - pt. 2

Chad Meier, P.Eng., heads up Cleartech's Kamloops operations. His geographical area includes the Shuswap, Thompson/Okanagan and Cariboo areas but he has completed larger projects in the Kootenay and Northeast BC regions.

Chad obtained his Bio-Resource Engineering degree from UBC in 1998 and worked in the environmental consulting industry for nine years. During this time he was involved mainly in soil and groundwater investigation and remediation. He gained valuable knowledge and experience with soil and groundwater processes. Here he also gained experience interpreting legislation and negotiating and liaising with regulators.

Chad joined Cleartech in a part time capacity in August 2005 and them made the swtich to full time in July 2007. Chad is a member of APEGBC and BCOSSA. He has attended conferences for the American Society of Agricultral and Biological Engineers and the BC Onsite Sewer Association dedicated completely to the advancement of the onsite industry.

Who Are We?

Cleartech Consulting Ltd. (previously Cleartech Wastewater) was established in 2004, and currently employs two engineers, Craig Regier and Chad Meier.

Craig is the owner and president of Cleartech and works out of the Vancouver office, serving the Lower Mainland, Greater Vancouver, Bowen Island, etc. Craig graduated from UBC in 1998 and was then employed by Levelton Consultants Ltd. in their Surrey office. He headed their septic engineering department until early 2004 when he was transferred to their geotechnical division in Richmond. During his years there, Craig gained technical and hands-on experience in on-site septic projects, including site assessment, system design, construction techniques and review, regulatory approvals, and more. Craig left Levelton in the spring of 2004 to start Cleartech Wastewater and pursue his interest in on-site septic engineering. In the summer of 2005 Cleartech Wastewater was phased out following the incorporation of Cleartech Consulting Ltd.

Craig is very active and involved in the BC on-site septic industry. He is a past and current member of the ASTTBC OWRP registration board, has presented at trade shows, attended many technical seminars and short courses. His current memberships/affiliations include APEGBC (BC engineers), CSBE (Canadian bioengeering), BCOSSA (BC on-site sewage), and ASTTBC (BC technicians and technologists).

This is our first posting to our blog site, and we thought we'd introduce ourselves...

Cleartech Consulting Ltd. is a wholly BC owned and operated company specializing in the planning and design of Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3 on-site septic treatment and disposal systems. Cleartech provides septic planning and consulting services to all areas of British Columbia, focusing on Greater Vancouver and the Lower Mainland, the Cariboo/B.C. Interior, and the Okanagan.

Cleartech Consulting Ltd. has many years of experience in septic site assessment, system planning and design, regulatory approval, rural land development, subdivision and septic project management in British Columbia and Alberta.

We are certified by the ASTTBC On-Site Wastewater Registration Board and employ both ROWP Planners (BC) for Type 1 and Type 2 systems, and Professional Engineers (BC and AB) for Type 3, large flow, and/or high strength systems.

Our offices in Vancouver and Kamloops (with a satellite office in 70 Mile House) offer cost effective and environmentally friendly solutions for all types of septic projects: single and multi-family residential, institutional, commercial, recreational, work camps, etc.
